Dr. Passport (Tablet) – Reception/Medical Questionnaire Support for Foreign Patients

Dr. Passport (Tablet) is a mobile application which helps foreign nationals seeking medical assistance when they are sick or injured. It provides assistance at the reception area of medical, accommodation and public transport facilities. To activate the app, an ID distributed through Mais Co., Ltd. is required. Necessary medical forms and questionnaires can be completed by patients in their native language. Input data can then be translated into Japanese allowing reception staff to easily grasp the situation, and diagnostic staff to have a full understanding of the patient’s symptoms. Translated contents will be displayed on-screen and can be sent by email.

Features of Dr. Passport (Tablet)

■Comprehensive input of patient’s symptoms
・Detailed symptom information can be recorded, including affected area, duration and development.
・Depending on the need, input information can be comprehensive or kept to the bare minimum, skipping unnecessary details.

■13 languages supported (as of January 2017)
Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Portuguese, Thai, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Malay.

■Medical history interview
・Input basic information like name, gender, nationality, blood type, height, weight, normal temperature etc., as well as medical history information including usage of insulin, pacemakers and dialysis, allergies, pregnancy, existing conditions, past conditions and vaccinations.

■Compile information necessary for reception and admin procedures
・Questions such as patient’s residence status, insurance status, payment method, whether or not this is their first visit, whether or not they have a referral letter (and an explanation of extra medical expenses), whether or not they need a medical certificate etc. have been included after consultation with medical professionals.

■Change input language to Japanese instantaneously from any screen
・Staff can confirm what the patient is inputting at any moment.

■Works offline
・All functions except for emailing of data work without an internet connection

Through use of the Dr. Passport (Tablet) app, medical facilities can reduce the cost and amount of admin necessary for receiving patients. Additionally, places seeing large numbers of foreign residents and visitors (accommodation facilities, businesses, tourist spots, transport facilities) can use the app to assist first response for customers who are struck by sudden illness.
